Our Mission

The purpose of this site is to help drivers get back on the road without the need of a tow truck. Most break downs can be handled without the need of expensive tools or a mechanic. These pages will show you how. Along the side of each site we have posted the necessary tools. We recommend that you add these tools to your car maintenance/emergency kit. By following this guide you will be better prepared to quickly get yourself back on the road as well as lend a helping hand to a fellow stranded traveler.

About the Authors

We are not mechanics. In fact, we have probably found ourselves in situations where we were unprepared for the unexpected break down more often than most. We have come together to help other people stay out of these types of situations. We have researched and personally tried many of the methods that we have presented. For example, I (Mike) am still driving on a tire that I plugged nearly a month ago when we started this project. Brandt, Kevin, and I are students at Brigham Young University Idaho. We developed this project for Mr. Cameron's Advanced Technical Writing and Communication class. We hope you find the methods useful in an emergency. Please drive responsibly.
